‘The Golden Years’`

My first introduction to an aging body,

the embarrassment of
loosing control.

age comes without asking,
seeping out of us,
its golden stream,
rich in nutrient,
rich in knowledge,
rich in history.

we try to hold it back,
we hide it,
it seeps,
it pools,
it soaks us in.

yet, it contains great value,
feeding the earth,
our community.

new growth comes,
quietly, in small ways.
